Helen Thomas stated that: Israelis should “get the hell” out of Palestine and go to places including Poland, Germany and the United States.
There are many news stories that I could have commented on today. The Gaza Flotilla, the oil spill, the global financial meltdown to name a few. I choose this story because it is important that we call out anti-Semitism when we see it.
It would appear that White House correspondent Helen Thomas, who with all due respect, at 89 years old should retire, told us what she really felt about those troublesome Jews. When asked about the Middle East, she wasted no time in voicing her opinion, which makes me wonder how many other so-called unbiased reporters, are of her ilk! How could a woman who is exposed to some of the greatest minds, the intellectual elite of our country, those who sit in power, come up with such a blatantly anti-semitic remark? The video of her statement has gone viral and the link to it is below.
The idea that the Jews should get out of Israel is the basis for all of the tension in the Middle East. Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and Syria, have all made it very clear that Israel should be wiped off the Map. Helen Thomas has added her voice to the chorus of Anti-Semites that are calling for Israel to go back to where they came from. The problem is, Palestine, or Israel is where the Jews came from! We know this historically, and also from the overwhelming archeological evidence that has been uncovered in the 19, 20, and now, 21 centuries. Israel is where the Jews originally came from. It was their ancient homeland, for thousands of years. There’s no getting around this, it’s irrefutable. Of course the there are those like Thomas that insist the Jews go back to Germany or Poland. I wonder if she means for the Jews to go back to places like Auschwitz or Dachau? During the 1940′s in Germany, the Jews were rounded up, stripped of their property and sent of to concentration camps where entire families vanished in the gas chambers.
Israel belongs to the Jews. I have a pamphlet dated 1924. It was published by the Supreme Moslem Council. Do you want to know what it says on page four, in regard to the temple mount in Jerusalem?
It says: The site is one of the oldest in the world. Its sanctity dates from the earliest (perhaps pre-historic) times. Its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute. This, too, is the spot according to the universal belief on which David built there and altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.” (2 Samuel 24:25) But, for the purpose of this Guide, which confines itself to the Moslem period, the starting point is the year 637.
This was written by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini. The document is proof that the Jews have a claim to the land. This claim was also substantiated by the United Nations in 1948. As I have stated numerous times, but will include in this post once again. After the defeat of Germany in WWI, the Ottoman empire was dismantled and the new nations of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Palestine were created. Whose lands was it when those countries were formed from the Ottoman empire?
In closing todays post. Last week the Israeli’s defended their right to deter ships that would bring weapons into Gaza. I linked to the video that showed Israeli commandoes being beaten and one soldier thrown overboard. It just amazed me how the world rushed to condemn Israel, with Turkey protesting the loudest! May I remind the Turks that during WWI they force-marched to death over 1 million men, women and child in what has become known as the Armenian genocide. The Turks refuse to acknowledge that this atrocity happened. It is so far beyond the pale it’s hard to put into words… I will post instead one picture which conveys what my words fail to portray… Shame on you Turkey!
Helen Thomas Retires!
She should have been fired!
At least she’s gone…. I wonder how many other “Helen’s” are out there with pen in hand….
