Where is all of this leading to? The Return of the King

For those of you who frequent this BLOG site on a regular basis you know that I believe we are in the last days, the end times, the period leading up to what the Guide Book to the supernatural (i.e. the Bible) refers to as the time of Jacob’s Trouble. This is also called the Tribulation, and as the Guidebook informs us, unless those days were shortened no flesh would survive.
I want to call your attention to three films that have come out in recent months. They are, 2012, Eli and Knowing. They all have apocalyptic themes that explore the end of the world scenarios. 2012 explores the destruction of the planet and reflects the Mayan calendar date December 21st, 2012, as being the time in which life as we know it will come to an end.
In the movie Eli there is a scene in which the hero, Eli, played by Denzel Washington tells us that the book that he guarding with his life – later on in the movie we discover that this book is the King James Bible – may have been responsible for starting the war which almost annihilated all of mankind. After this war the people that survived the big “flash,” gathered up most of the remaining Bibles and burned them.
In Knowing, the prophecies that are given by automatic writing – which is blatantly occult manipulation – point to the end of the world and destruction of the planet. In one of the final scenes of the movie, we see a bus with a “Jesus Saves” sign painted on the side of it. But in Knowing, Jesus never returns to save anyone.
In all three of these movies there is little hope for anyone and that brings me to my point today. In fact, I may be on this subject for a few days because I think it should be our focus to help us through the days in which we are living. We are told - warned ahead of time – that in the last days there would be perilous times, men fainting from fear from what is coming on the earth, lying signs and wonders, earthquakes, famines, pestilence, wars and rumors of wars.
From my perspective we are in those times and we must remember that these are similar to the birth-pangs of a woman in labor, but it is not the end. It is not the Tribulation period, the days of Jacob’s Trouble, or the 7 years that Daniel, the prophet warns us of. All of these things, told to us in advance, warn us so that we may know the time in which we live.
More importantly is the event that happens at the end of those days and these movies never make mention of it. It is the Return of the King. It is our blessed hope as He, (Jesus) will manifest in our dimension, as he rides into the battle of Armageddon on a white horse and puts an end to the insanity and the evil that has for so long governed the affairs of men. When He returns He will heal the nations, and there will be no sickness, death, war and all of the atrocities that mankind has done to one another throughout history will become a distant memory.
This is our hope and the movies that I mentioned offer us little in the way of it. His words are true, as He is the first and the last, the new Adam, the Risen Lord, the Savior of all men and women. It is He who will judge the living and the dead, and by His breath He will overcome the evil one. Remember this, when He was here the first time He healed the sick, raised the dead, gave the blind their site and the deaf their hearing. He fed the hungry, walked on water, calmed the storms, and cast out demons. His actions are full of mercy, healing and benevolence. Can anyone argue with that?
In closing today’s post I would like to say that the Return of the King is where all of this craziness is headed to. At some point, history as we know it, shall end and the King will take possession of His kingdom. Maranatha!
