October is a beautiful time of year.  Yet Christians, and especially those with children, often struggle to deal with this season. While most understand that stock Halloween celebrations are rooted in the occult, many don't know the broader history behind this peculiar autumn festival.  Still, October has not been wholly given over to the dark side.  There are some historical bright spots for the Church in October, and it's good to turn our attention to the many ministry opportunities available to us even while avoiding those "games" associated with Halloween that can be entries for the occult.

I have received about a dozen posts regarding the Official Disclosure story that first ran in the Honolulu Examiner last week. Here’s what I think. We have no way of knowing whether it is legitimate or not. Michael Salla Pd.D. is the author of the post and it’s gone viral on the Internet… it’s everywhere. The problem is that it is speculation on his part, unless he has sources that are feeding him inside information.

Eloquent writing can be very effective when trying to convince someone of your beliefs. However, in terms of something so mind bending as the talk of a global conspiracy, the more proof that comes from statements made by those 'in the know'  should raise the most eyebrows.

Lilith was also thought to be the great temptress of men. She was a succubus that attached itself to men causing them to err. She was also the one that supposedly caused nocturnal emissions in men. God then created Eve as a helpmate to Adam from his own side. Many an incantation bowl said “Adam and Eve out Lilith.”

The approaching Golden Years had turned to rust while companies downsized in a rush to survive and families downsized from wants, fancy holiday plans, and expected bonuses to necessities like keeping the family alive on dwindling credit cards and shrinking checks or borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. America’s Dream was turning to dust and it seemed that for many there was not only loss of hope but also loss of God’s intervention.

I'm going to try and make this as simple and easy to understand as I can. Salvation is not only an undeserved free gift but it is really simple to understand given the right explanation. Hope that I succeed. There is after all eternity at stake.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the Fatima apparitions. The actual event took place on October 13th, 1917, in Fatima, Portugal. I have written extensively on this subject and although I didn't BLOG on it yesterday, I will do so today. I received a comment from Matt, who pointed me to the trailer, for the up and coming movie about Fatima.

 The story behind this horrifying image is nothing less than astonishing. This demonic specter became the inspiration for the main fallen angel, the so called extraterrestrial protagonist in both of my novels, The Great Harpazo Deception and Invasion Israel.

For many years I have thought about the celebration of Halloween as one of our nation’s almost obligatory pastimes. It was something that most of us grew up with. There was typically the one- or two-week build up to the climatic event -- Halloween. In typical fashion there were costumes and paper sacks, and small orange kettles to collect the evening’s delights. When we were young, our parents probably thought that it was innocent fun where one day a year we would be able to scour the neighborhood in search of the best candy or the housethat gave out most delicious caramel apples, and in school there may have been a contest for the best Halloween costume.
