Revelation: The Time Is At Hand - XXXVII

There are seven major events of end-time prophecy, all of which are covered in the book of Revelation. In chapter 1 we see the resurrected, glorified Christ standing in the midst of the seven churches, typified by seven golden candlesticks. In his right are seven stars, which typify the angels or Pastors of the seven churches. Chapters 2 and 3 deal with the seven churches. While there were more than seven churches in the Roman province of Asia Minor in John's day; the seven that were selected by the Holy Spirit, while certainly actual congregations with very real issues and needs, represent seven distinct periods of Church history; commencing with Ephesus the Apostolic Church, and concluding with Laodicea the Lukewarm, self-absorbed Church.
