The Internet is abuzz with news that a US Senate committee has approved a bill that apparently gives the President authority to shut down the Internet. According to TechWorld.com, “A US Senate committee has approved a wide-ranging cybersecurity bill that some critics have suggested would give the US president the authority to shut down parts of the Internet during a cyberattack.”

There is a video where Obama says, “my Muslim faith,” and when corrected by the interviewer, Obama back-tracks and says Christian faith.  I can’t imagine myself saying that ever. How would I ever confuse Muslim faith, with Christian faith? Is it a gaff or is it a reflection of a deliberate obfuscation.

In a development little noticed by the American public, President Obama's subordinates have quietly let it be known that he reserves the right to have American citizens overseas assassinated.  Not imprisoned. Not spied upon without a warrant. Killed in cold blood with no oversight whatsoever.

Hitler was was enthralled by Grail stories however they manifested themselves. In the Parsifal story, the Holy Grail was a philosophers stone of secret knowledge while the Cathars called it a cup of secret knowledge. For the record, I had a great dad.  I didn't recognize that fact until I was in my mid-20s, when I noticed that my father was starting to get smarter.  Somehow, I haven't figured out how, Dad managed to keep getting smarter until the day he went home to be with the Lord.  And the older I got, the more I realized just how much he sacrificed for his family.  I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to let him know that I knew before his time on Earth was done.

As we approach Father’s Day this Sunday, I think it is necessary to once again draw attention to what has become one of America’s greatest problems: the dearth of masculine leadership in the home.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Gal 3:28).  When these words were penned, by Paul, almost two thousand years ago they were revolutionary.  We’ve come a long way since then and I believe much of that progress can be traced to this verse. This declaration set the ancient world on its head.

The images are familiar; listless, skeletal faces of starving adults and children; broken bones and burned flesh; forced labor in barren government prisons; entire families tortured, experimented on and publicly executed for the flimsiest of suspicions of disloyalty to the regime. Yet, these are not pictures from Auschwitz or Dachau 65 years ago. These are images that leak to the outside world from present-day North Korea, the domain of Kim Jung-Il.

These three men who claimed to be the second coming of Christ on earth were, in my opinion, demon possessed.  One of the self-proclaimed Messiah’s lives  in Russia, has long hair, a beard, and a long flowing robe. He could have come right out of central casting from a Hollywood movie on Jesus.

There are twelve "minor" prophets that are yet to be really discovered by most Christians. (They are called "minor" simply because they are smaller - shorter, more terse, and concise.) Yet they contain some of the most fascinating and provocative prophecies you'll find anywhere in the Scriptures. Here's a glimpse of two of them.

One does not have to be a prophet to know that we are on the precipice of some potentially catastrophic–or at the very least, challenging–days. Turkey has long sought admission into the European Union. It has looked to the west since its defeat in WWI, but has been denied “entry,” most likely due to its Moslem population. Turkey was one of Israel’s allies in the region, until the blockade incident last week. It would appear that all of that has changed, as Turkey seems to be leaning toward Iran and the rest of the Moslem world.

Ten people died in a series of bombings across Iraq June 7, reminding the world that the violence there has not ended. On May 2, a roadside bomb exploded near buses carrying Christian students to Mosul University. Minutes later, a car bomb detonated near those same busses. One bystander was killed and over 100 people were injured in the bombings in this northern city that boasts a large Christian population. While many attacks in Iraq are meant to cause general instability, a significant number purposely target Christians.

When professing Christians accuse other believers of being Communist sympathizers, Nazi collaborators, or—even worse—closet members of the ACLU, something is seriously wrong in Christendom.

People do not want to give up their sins. I sure did not. They felt too good. I also wanted to find so called Gnostic truth on my terms, in my way and still maintain control. It is hard to let go and let God be in control.   I fought this surrendering of my will with tooth and nail. I wanted to be the captain of my ship and I did not need any help or criticism, thank you very much.

It would seem that The Middle East war is ready to go, all it needs is a flash point, an incident that ignites the fires of war. Iran has recently announced that it is going to send two of its warships, to escort another “peace flotilla” to Gaza. Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has stated that these ships, “will teach Israel a lesson.”

Much has been written about journalist Helen Thomas and her comment that the Jews “should get the heck (sic) out of Palestine and leave this occupied land and go back home to Poland and Germany”. This is simply despicable and unacceptable and she should have resigned.. Jews were gassed at Auschwitz in Poland by the Germans.

As I've matured, the Forehead-Slap Moment (FSM for short) has become a regular feature of my life. I'll be reading something, listening to something, or watching something, when suddenly, without warning, neurons fire, something clicks, and SLAP!  The FSM is usually followed by the cry, "Why didn't I see that before?"

Helen Thomas stated that: Israelis should “get the hell” out of Palestine and go to places including Poland, Germany and the United States.  There are many news stories that I could have commented on today. The Gaza Flotilla, the oil spill, the global financial meltdown to name a few. I choose this story because it is important that we call out anti-Semitism when we see it.

Much has been written of late concerning the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's claim that he had a mystical vision of the return of the 12th Islamic Imam, a child who disappeared in the year 941, who will be the Mahdi, the Islamic Messiah. When this Mahdi returns, he will reign for 7 years and then bring final judgment and the end of the world. Many Christians believe that he actually will be what the New Testament calls the Antichrist who will rule and reign for seven years during the Tribulation.

When the Irish Christian band Bluetree sneaked into Burma (Myanmar) to play music to the Karen Christians there, the band members believed they were doing something dangerous. They did not appreciate until they got back into Thailand that they had come very close to being slaughtered.

So here we are, a few days after the “incident” in the Mediterranean that pushed Israel into the “shun” category. It would appear that we are living in the last days, the days in which the whole world is against the Jewish state. I keep harping on this because most of the world doesn’t have a clue as to what is really going on.

The Book of Revelation is the only book of the Bible that promises a special blessing to the reader (Revelation 1:3; 22:7).  Many verses in the Bible encourage reading God's Word--in general--but only one book has the "audacity" to claim, in effect, "Read me, I'm special."

The violent response of Israeli commandos to a confrontation aboard the Turkish vessel Mavi Marmara has inserted a red-hot poker into the already angry nest of hornets that is the Middle East. As with most things in this world, however, the names and labels applied tend to obscure reality.

Jesus tells us not to fear the ones who can kill the physical body (the so called first death) like Beelzebub, the Prince of the Demons and his dominions (Matthew 10:25), but fear Him (God) who can send you into hell and eventually into the lake of fire (the second death). Beelzebub cannot send you to hell or into the lake of fire, only God can do that.
